Ingredients:
1 head of cauliflower cut into small florets
A layer of oil for frying
Sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 knob grated ginger
½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
½ cup coconut aminos or soy sauce
⅓ cup rice vinegar
¼ cup sugar
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1-2 tbsp water
Batter
1 cup gluten free flour
⅔ cup cornstarch
1 ½ tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
4 eggs
½ cup water
Directions:
Sauce
Step 1: Heat sesame oil in a saucepan on medium low heat.
Step 2: Add ginger and garlic and stir for 1-2 minutes.
Step 3: Add in remaining ingredients and bring to a low boil; simmer for 20-30 minutes.
Batter
Step1: Pour oil into a pan. Make it deep enough so the oil will cover the bottoms of the cauliflower.
Step 2:Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl.
Step 3: Coat cauliflower in batter.
Step 4: Fry cauliflower until golden and crispy.
Step 5: Add fried cauliflower into the sauce until cauliflower is coated. Enjoy!
